We are looking forward with great anticipation to Bishop Mary Gray-Reeves visit to Saint Thomas Episcopal Church for Easter celebrations. We are truly honored to have her preside this year at The Great Easter Vigil which takes place on Holy Saturday April 19th at 7:30 PM. She will also be leading the 8:00 AM and 10:30 AM Easter Sunday services on April 20th.
The Great Easter Vigil – April 19th at 7:30 PM
The Great Easter Vigil is an incredibly beautiful and spiritually moving form of liturgical worship that is both ancient and symbolic. It’s the retelling of the central story of our Christian faith, The Resurrection of Jesus Christ. It will begin in the outer courtyard under the cover of darkness of Holy Saturday. A light will be stirred to fire our imaginations. From this light, the Paschal Candle and all of our candles will be lit. The celebration will move to the church sanctuary in anticipation of Messiah’s return with song, performance arts, proclamation and bells. Reception to follow.
Easter Sunday Services – April 20th at 8:00 AM and 10:30 AM
Bishop Mary will join us in presiding over the celebrations of two Easter Sunday services. She will bless us with her presence and words of wisdom that both encourage and inspire. Breakfast buffet with the Bishop to be served in-between Sunday services from 9:00 AM – 10:15 AM with an open forum for questions and answers regarding the church. An Easter Egg hunt for the children will follow the 10:30 AM Sunday service with refreshments on the patio.
We are an inclusive Christian community where all people are welcome. We invite you to join us and share in these joyful celebrations of our Christian faith. See what we are all about!
