SUNDAY SCHOOL – 10:30 am
Sunday School is held in the Smith Education Building at 10:30 am.
This week classes will be held in the Heart Classroom for our younger students (ages 4 to 7) with Kristen and for older students (ages 8 to 12) will meet in the Treasure Classroom with Pam. They will be teaching the story of the Samaritan Woman at the Well.
We will be working on the “Family Prayer Sticks” in Class. Each family will receive a set of prayer sticks to take home and use during Lent and decide what they need to pray for using the sticks to facilitate Family Worship.
The following is the Prayer Stick Code: Red is for Adoration of the Lord ( praising God), Blue is for Petition (asking god for our own needs), Green is for Intercession (asking God for the needs of others) and Purple is for Thanksgiving (thanking God for our Blessings).
A family could choose to use two or three sticks each evening when gathered together. As each family has its own dynamic so there are many ways to use these sticks to create intentional time for prayer.
CHILDCARE
Childcare for infants and children up to 4 years old are available during mid morning service with Tina in the Nursery, also located in the Smith Educational Building.
For campus locations, please see Directions and Campus Map.
NEW STUDENTS – FIRST VISIT
Hello Parents and Guardians – if this is your student’s first time with us, please arrive a few minutes early to register your child.
We follow safe church practices, so its important that we know who’s in attendance, have parents(s) or guardian(s) check children in-and-out, and provide us us with any important details including contact info in the event of an emergency. Teachers are happy to help 🙂
Education building doors are locked 10 minutes after church service begins for added security…so give yourself a little extra time this first day. Teachers will be available to offer assistance to parents and children with registration, questions or any special needs – just introduce yourself and they’ll take it from there. Thanks so much and we look forward to meeting you!
READINGS – THE THIRD SUNDAY OF LENT
This Sunday’s readings are: Psalm 95, The First Reading is Exodus 17:1-7, The Second Reading is Romans 5:1-11 and the Gospel is John 4:5-42.
MEMORY VERSE FOR THE WEEK
“Bow down and worship the Lord our Creator! The Lord is our God, and we are his people, the sheep he takes care of in his own pasture.” – Psalm 95:7 CEV (Contemporary English Version)
LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT WEEK
We will be voting for which charity will receive our “Mite Box” Money to help them with their good works. We recommend discussing various Charities with your children this week in preparation.
Saturday, March 25th: We will gather in the Kitchen in Cowans Hall at 2:00 p.m. to bake cookies for the reception following the performance of the Salisbury Choir visiting from England and for the Easter Blessing Baskets which is a stewardship project for the Saint Thomas Sunday School. Come join in the fun!
