Fourth Sunday in Lent

Do You Wish to Be Healed? by Pastor Salying

In this sermon, Pastor Salying talks about judgment as it means in the Greek and in the Gospel of John: a moment of discernment forced by what is revealed by the light. She illustrates what this means with the story of snakes in Number 21, where the Israelites are poisoned by their own point of view. They must look into the source of poison if they wish to be healed. Pastor Salying brings into this sermon some teaching from Thomas Keating about the bondage of afflictive emotions as it feeds the needs of the false self. The basic question for our discernment is, “Do you wish to be healed?”
