Let’s go birding!
When: April 1, 3pm.
Who: Led by Andrew and Pastor Salying; we will be joined by some friends.
Where:2690 Terminal Blvd, Palo Alto, CA 94303. Charleston Slough / Adobe Creek area as described here. It’s close by and easily accessible (at the junction of Palo Alto and Mountain View right off the 101 Highway).
Meet at the San Antonio Gate Trailhead, by the steel cutouts of flying barn swallows. There are parking spots and street parking all along Terminal Blvd.
What: We’ll see shorebirds and waterfowl for the most part. Some songbirds (LBJs–little brown jobs!) will be around.
Bring: Binoculars, if you have any. I have some extras and will have a scope. Also bring hat and water and dress in layers.
Resource:The beginner’s guide to bird-watching.
Food: After birding, we might go to a Japanese ramen place that’s nearby (Dohatsuten).
RSVP: If you let Pastor Salying know, it would be easier for her to communicate with you: pastorsalying@stthomas-svale.us; 5104783554 (mobile).
Whetting the appetite:
Are these different kinds of birds? Come and see! (Yes–back one is Greater Yellow Leg and front one is Lesser Yellow Leg.)
