Zoom with Us – Fifth Sunday after Epiphany

Welcome to ZOOM worship at St. Thomas.

This Sunday is February 7, 2021, the Fifth Sunday after the Epiphany.

At 10:00am, you are invited to join Pastor Salying for open conversation before worship begins at 10:30am.

Now that most of us know how to use Zoom, the half hour before service usually dedicated to trouble-shooting will also be an open time to connect with one another and with the pastor.  All are welcome.  Just sign in as usual.

All others, at 10:20-10:25am Sunday, please connect to our worship meeting.

There are two ways to do this:

1.  by computer or smartphone (video and audio):

You may access our ZOOM meeting on the following link:

https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82690025101

2. by telephone (audio only):

Dial +1 669 900 9128        Meeting ID: 826 9002 5101

When prompted for a participant number, touch the pound key #

Notes for dial-in users: *6 (star 6) to mute/unmute the audio from your phone to the meeting. This doesn’t stop audio from the meeting to you.

*9 (star 9) raise your hand to (hopefully) let someone else at the meeting know you’d like to speak. You may use *9 again to lower your raised hand.

Actual connection time may take several minutes; please be patient.

Once you are connected, your face (or phone number) should appear in a square on your screen, as will the faces of others who have signed in, including Pastor Salying.

Note: For the sake of audio clarity, your mic will be muted on entry.

We will begin with introductory remarks, announcements, and then worship with Morning Prayer together as one large body.

We will begin with introductory remarks, announcements, and then worship with Morning Prayer together as one large body.

After the liturgy, all are invited to stay for a community gathering; depending on the day, it will either be at-large, in large groups, or as a special event.

You may print the order of service from this document, OR you may follow along when the order of service appears on the screen.

When all are ready, the officiant will begin.

Annual Meeting – Sunday, Jan. 27th

ANNUAL MEETING

Sunday, January 27th – See details below…

TRANSPARENCY ON FINANCES

In our desire to be good stewards of the gifts that have been pledged by our parishioners and to offer transparency into the church’s finances, we hold an annual meeting to share where we are at, and what the vestry has approved as our budget for the coming year.

WORSHIP SERVICE CHANGES

Due to the special Annual Meeting event, there will be a single-combined worship service at 10:30 am in the main sanctuary of the church.

The Annual Meeting will begin at the end of service and continue over in Cowans Hall after a brief intermission to dish up at the lunch buffet.

Please mark your calendars!

LUNCH IS ON!

Parish Event Planners (fondly known as PEP) will be serving deli-style sandwiches.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS: Plates, breads, sandwich fixings, and side dishes will be offered at the buffet table. As you enter, please take a plate, make your selections quickly and find a place to sit before assembling your sandwich.

Condiments will be provided on each of the tables along with the napkins and utensils. The meeting will continue in Cowans Hall after everyone has been seated.

During this time, the church financials will be presented and reviewed, most importantly the Annual Report for 2018 and the Budget for 2019.

Y’ALL COME NOW – YA HEAR?

All parishioners are encouraged to attend this once-a-year gathering of the full membership to review these important fiscal reports, to meet the new vestry nominees, and along with the rest of the congregation, to participate in the ongoing life and mission of St. Thomas church. So, please join us!

To gain a greater appreciation of the vestry nominees, please check out their bios in the latest edition of St. Thomas’ Beyond a Doubt monthly newsletter.

COMMISSIONS & COMMITTEES

All materials for the Annual Report should be submitted to the parish office as soon as possible, and no later than January 15th.

Please bring your offerings to Cowans Hall prior to the meeting so we can stay on track so we can be good stewards of our time together!
