This Sunday Students will meet in the “Heart” classroom where they will be studying the Book of Genesis. For those who did not receive a Lenten Calendar, please be sure to pick one up. 🙂

READINGS

These are the readings for the Second Sunday in Lent: Psalm 121, The First Reading is Genesis 12:1-4a, The Second Reading is Romans 4:1-5, 13-17, And the Gospel is John 3:1-17.

MEMORY VERSE

The memory verse if you choose to use it is: “Jesus answered: I tell you for certain that before you can get into God’s kingdom you must be born not only by water, but by the spirit.” ~ John 3:5 (CEV/ Contemporary English Version)

Sunday School – Dec. 8th

LIGHTING THE ADVENT WREATH @ 10:30 AM

This Sunday we will gather in the Narthex to process in to church and Light the Advent Wreath at the beginning of the Service. Sam and Joe are the Lighters and Readers for this Sunday. After the Wreath is lit, we will go to the Treasure Room in the Education building for class.

READINGS

These are the readings for the Second Sunday of Advent: Psalm 72:1-7, 18-19, The First Reading is Isaiah 11:1-10, The Second Reading is Romans 15:4-13 and the Gospel is Matthew 3:1-12.

MEMORY VERSE

“Let peace and justice rule every mountain and hill.” ~ Psalm 72:3 (Contemporary English Version)

UPCOMING PAGEANT REHEARSALS & PERFORMANCE

Following the Church Service we will hold a Blocking Rehearsal in the Church. All members of the Pageant Cast will need to stay for Rehearsal so they will know where to move and when to do it. We will also add the Angel to your Creche scene today. If you have not yet tried on your costume you will do it today. Our next rehearsal will be held on December 14, which is a Saturday, at 9:00 in the Church. This will be our dress rehearsal.

Arrival time for the Pageant on December 15th will be 9:45 AM. Thank you all for your time and effort.

Sunday School – Sept. 29th

STARTS @ 10:30 AM

This week’s Sunday School class will gather in the Treasure classroom and then proceed over to Cowans Hall to help with Family Ministry’s much looked forward to Annual Chili Feed.

The children will assist with setting up and decorating the tables plus helping to create some yummy desserts for this special event.

An extra thanks to Breno and Naveen for helping with “Games on the Plaza” to follow after lunch. Please come out and join us for a fun-filled Sunday!

Sunday School – Nov. 25th

STARTS @ 10:30 AM

This Sunday’s classes will be held in the Treasure and the Heart Classrooms, in the Education Building. Bora and Pam will be the teachers. We will be creating Advent Chains for the children to open from December 1st thru each day of Advent.

NURSERY CARE*

Nursery care with Tina is available for infants and children (up to 4 years*) during the 10:30 AM morning service. The Nursery is located in the Education Building.

REMINDERS

If you are attending this Sunday, we will offer a Costume fitting in the Educational Building for those participants signed up for the annual Christmas Pageant immediately following Worship Service; there is no Rehearsal on this day.

GOOD NEWS

The Sunday School Annual Thanksgiving Food Ingathering collected 157 pounds of Food that were delivered to Second Harvest Food Bank on Monday. Thank you to all who donated.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS

Last week the children created ornaments that will be donated to the Christmas Boutique for sale to raise funds for Saint Thomas. Join us at the Christmas Boutique on December 2nd and December 9th in Cowans Hall.
