Zoom with Us on Palm Sunday – Jesus Triumphal Entry – March 28

Welcome to ZOOM worship at St. Thomas.

This Sunday is March 28, 2021, Palm Sunday and the Sunday of The Passion.

Link to the Service Bulletin here.

This Sunday at 10:00am, you are invited to join us for open conversation before worship begins at 10:30 AM.

You are encouraged to decorate your Zoom space with Palms or any other greenery.

Now that most of us know how to use Zoom, the half hour before service usually dedicated to trouble-shooting will also be an open time to connect with one another and with the pastor.

All are welcome.  Just sign in as usual.

All others, at 10:20-10:25 AM Sunday, please connect to our worship meeting.

There are two ways to do this:

1.  by computer or smartphone (video and audio):

You may access our ZOOM meeting on the following link:

2. by telephone (audio only):

Dial +1 669 900 9128        Meeting ID: 826 9002 5101

When prompted for a participant number, touch the pound key #

Notes for dial-in users: *6 (star 6) to mute/unmute the audio from your phone to the meeting.

This doesn’t stop audio from the meeting to you.

*9 (star 9) raise your hand to (hopefully) let someone else at the meeting know you’d like to speak. You may use *9 again to lower your raised hand. Actual connection time may take several minutes; please be patient.

Once you are connected, your face (or phone number) should appear in a square on your screen, as will the faces of others who have signed in, including Pastor Salying.

Note: For the sake of audio clarity, your mic will be muted on entry.

We will begin with introductory remarks, announcements, and then worship with Morning Prayer together as one large body.

After the liturgy, all are invited to stay for a community gathering; depending on the day, it will either be at-large, in large groups, or as a special event.

You may print the order of service from the attached document, OR you may follow along when the order of service appears on the screen.

When all are ready, the officiant will begin.

Season of Advent – Dec. 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd

Advent marks the beginning of the Episcopalian liturgical calendar year. It welcomes us to prepare our hearts, minds and spirits for the advent or coming birth of our Savior Jesus Christ.

The season begins with the first Sunday of Advent on December 1st followed consecutively by the second, third and fourth Sundays of Advent on December 8th, 15th and 22nd of this calendar year.

Each Sunday focuses on a different aspect of Jesus. The advent wreath with its colored candles helps of gather our focus as each candle is lit. The first is known as the “Prophet’s Candle” symbolizing an unfolding expectation, followed on the second Sunday by the “Bethlehem Candle” symbolizing faith. On the third Sunday, we light the “Shepherd’s Candle” to represent joy and in observance of the fourth and final Sunday of Advent, the “Angel’s Candle” is lit to represent peace, the transcendent gift of Christ.

In celebration of the final Sunday of Advent on December 22nd, we will share Lessons & Carols – rejoice with us!

Please join us in worship welcoming the Season of Advent. There will be a procession followed by the lighting of the Advent candle(s) with readings from the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament), the Epistles and Gospels to follow that help us consider this sacred time. A sermon or homily will be offered and time of greeting.

There are two service times available: 8:00 and 10:30 AM. Each service has a slightly different character. The early morning service is quiet and reflective using traditional English language. The second service incorporates music and song into worship with more contemporary language.

If you have any questions or are in need special accommodations during worship service, Contact Us.

Worship Schedule Today

We would to extend a heartfelt invitation to you to join us for one of our Sunday services this weekend.

Worship Services – 8:00 and 10:30 AM

The first service at 8:00 AM is perfect for early risers and is more quiet in its expression without music, it tends to feel more contemplative.

The second service offered mid-morning at 10:30 AM is highlighted by choral music with hymns and instrument accompaniment throughout the order of service, typically organ and piano.

Coffee Hour

Coffee hour is a time to get together and catch-up on news of the week, chat about the sermon, share about upcoming events, and nibble on a treat with a cuppa – all in good company.

Coffee hour is provided in Cowans hall across the courtyard from the church. You are most welcome to come do some exploring! We look forward to your visit.
