Sunday School – June 12th

Sunday School for children and youth is in session and we’re always happy to welcome new students! If this is your child’s first day joining in, parents please arrive a few minutes early to register your new student.

Just speak with one of the teachers, Kristen or Pam – they are available to assist you.

Registration can be done in any of the designated classrooms located in the Education Building. Classes will be held this week as follows: Children ages 4 – 7 will gather in the Heart Classroom and those ages 8 – 12 will meet in the Treasure Classroom – and remember to bring your Bibles!

Nursery Care is also offered for children ages 0 to age 4 in the Education Building.

SPECIAL EVENT THIS WEEK: Following class children will go to Washington Park to take communion with the congregation. The Annual Parish Picnic will follow.

EVERYONE – WEAR comfortable picnic clothes for fun and games! Consider bringing a potluck dish to share. Hamburgers, hot dogs and alternative salmon, turkey and veggie burgers will be provided….beverages, too!

IT SUMMERTIME: MARK YOUR CALENDARS!

JUNE 19TH: FAMILY EUCHARIST – Families will worship together in Church and Childcare will be held in the Back of the Church. We are celebrating Father’s Day together.

JUNE 26 AND JULY 3RD: NO SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES – teachers are taking a vacation break. Childcare will be held in the Back of the Church on those Sundays.

JULY 24, 31 AND AUGUST 7 & 14: VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
We will soon have Registration Forms available. VBS will be held on four Sunday mornings beginning at 9:30 and running until the End of Church.
VBS will be open to all children. They will participate in Stories, Music, Arts and Crafts, Games , Science Experiments and Food preparation.

AUGUST 27: CHILDREN & YOUTH SUMMIT WITH ERIC LAW – The event will be held in Salinas. Stay tuned…more details will follow.

WHAT ARE WE LEARNING?

We are exploring a new curriculum – come check it out!

READINGS – FOURTH SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST

The readings for the Fourth Sunday after Pentecost: Psalm 32, The First Reading is 2 Samuel 11:26-12:10 or 1 Kings 21:1-10, (11-14), 15-21a, The Second Reading is Galatians 2:15-21 and the Gospel is Luke 7:36—8:3.

MEMORY VERSE FOR THE WEEK

The Memory Verse for this week if you wish to use it is: “ Your faith has saved you. Go in Peace.” This is from the Gospel.

Parish Picnic – Sunday, June 14th

June has arrived, bringing with it Saint Thomas’ fun-in-the sun annual parish picnic. Our Parish Event Planners (PEP), who host this event, have it down to a fine art. Come and join us for delicious BBQ morsels with all the fixings, accompanied by a smorgasbord of tasty salads, sides and desserts to satisfy all tastes.

WHEN & WHERE

Sunday, June 14, 2015 at 12 Noon in Washington Park, across the street from Saint Thomas.

Follow the crowd walking over there after the 10:30 AM service and join us in the picnic area adjacent to the ball fields and playground.

PEP will be ready with hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill. Being mindful of some dietary restrictions, turkey and veggie burgers are offered as an alternative. Condiments and drinks will also be included.

FOR PICNIC-GOERS

Come ready to join in the fun by wearing your your picnic clothes to the 10:30 AM service. If you are able to, please bring an Appetizer, Salad or Dessert to share.

Enjoy fellowship, lunch, and afterwards just relax or mingle and chit-chat. No doubt, there will some games to entertain the children.
