The season of Lent returns on February 14th this year. And who can resist an ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT pancake feast served up by seasoned chef Carl of Family Ministry and the Sunday School kids?

WHEN

Sunday, February 11th with seatings at 9:00 a.m. and noon after each of the morning services.

WHERE

Saint Thomas Episcopal Church – in Cowans Hall, see Directions & Campus Map

SUPPORT SUNDAY SCHOOL YOUTH ACTIVITIES

Our children learn the value of service to the community in something as simple as serving hot off-the-griddle pancakes. They will be assisting us with a big smile! Come support our Sunday School children by making a donation for this tasty feast. The net proceeds your donations will help support their youth activities.

Pancakes will come with a side of ham and all the fixings plus juice, coffee, and tea. We will definitely have enough food on hand for seconds and possibly thirds.

Suggested donations for the pancake brunch are $2 per person, $1 per child (age 6-12), or $5 per family.

Join us in warm fellowship and hot cakes, and to support the children of Saint Thomas!

Sunday School – Feb. 11th

SUNDAY SCHOOL – 10:30 AM

This Sunday, children ages (*4-12) will meet in the Heart Classroom for a lesson on Ruth. They will also vote for the Charity they wish their “Mite Boxes “ to benefit.

They will receive their “Mite Boxes” and Lenten Calendars before going over to Cowans Hall to help with set-up for the Transfiguration Sunday pancake brunch.

Following mid-morning service, the children will be serving-up hot pancakes as part of their service to the St. Thomas community. Net proceeds from donations collected will support future Sunday School activities and events.

NURSERY CARE*

Nursery Care is available for infants and children (up to 4 years*) during the 10:30 AM morning service with Tina in the Nursery, also located in the Smith Educational Building.

For campus locations, please see Directions and Campus Map.

NEW STUDENTS – FIRST VISIT

Hello Parents and Guardians – if this is your student’s first time with us, please arrive a few minutes early to register your child.

We follow safe church practices, so its important that we know who’s in attendance, have parents(s) or guardian(s) check children in-and-out, and provide us us with any important details including contact info in the event of an emergency. Teachers are happy to help 🙂

Education building doors are locked 10 minutes after church service begins for added security…so give yourself a little extra time this first day. Teachers will be available to offer assistance to parents and children with registration, questions or any special needs – just introduce yourself and they’ll take it from there. Thanks so much and we look forward to meeting you!

READINGS – THE LAST SUNDAY AFTER EPIPHANY

Psalm 50:1-6, The First Reading is 2 Kings 2:1-12, The Second Reading is 2 Corinthians 4:3-6 and the Gospel Mark 9:2-9.
