We cordially invite you to join us for “Masses on the Grass” worship services that are heading outdoors and over to Washington Park! Look for us on the lawn.

WORSHIP TIME & DATES

We will gather together as a full faith community at 10:30 AM on June 11, July 16 and August 13.

There will only be one service offered on these dates.

NO SUNDAY SCHOOL

Sunday School will not be in session this week and resume again the following Sunday, August 20th.

WHAT TO BRING

Please bring a blanket or lawn chairs for added comfort. Chairs from the church will also be made available.

Vacation Bible School Resumes July 23rd

This Sunday we’re offering a little break. Sunday School will not be meeting. Families will instead gather together for fellowship and worship in Washington Park across the street from the church beginning at 10:30 AM. This is the second in a three-part series, the next Mass on the Grass will be held August 13, 2017.

What’s Happening Next Week

Vacation Bible School Camp resumes on July 23rd at 9:30 AM in the Education Building.

Children ages 4-12 are invited to participate in Stories, Games, Arts and Crafts, Creating and Consuming Snacks. Plan on having a good time.

Reminder: Please wear clothes that can get wet and shoes you can run in. Our lesson will be Jesus and the Great Catch of Fish.

Parish Picnic – June 11th

June has arrived, bringing with it Saint Thomas’ fun-in-the-sun annual parish picnic. This year’s event is coupled with the first of a series of Mass on the Grass outdoor worship services in Washington Park.

Our Parish Event Planners (PEP), who host this event, have it down to a fine art. Come and join us for delicious BBQ with all the fixings, accompanied by a smorgasbord of tasty salads, sides and desserts!

WHEN & WHERE

The event takes place on Sunday, June 11th in Washington Park, across the street from Saint Thomas.

Mass on the Grass starts at 10:30 AM followed by the Parish Picnic at 12:00 PM.

Follow parishioners and guests walking across the street to attend the Mass on the Grass worship service at 10:30 AM. Join us in the picnic area adjacent to the ball fields and playground.

MENU

PEP will be ready with hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill. For those with dietary restrictions, turkey, salmon, and veggie burgers will be offered as alternatives. Condiments and drinks are included.

FOR PICNIC-GOERS

Come ready to join in the fun by wearing your picnic clothes to the 10:30 AM service. Please consider bringing a Appetizer, Salad or Dessert to share and a cozy lawn chair.

Mass on the Grass & Parish Picnic – June 12th

We cordially invite you to join us for “Mass on the Grass” followed by the annual Parish Picnic in celebration of the completion of our program year!

TIME & PLACE

There is only one worship this day as we gather together for “Mass on the Grass” at 9:30 am across the street from Saint Thomas in Washington Park’s lawn area.

Please bring a blanket or lawn chairs for added comfort. A limited number of chairs from the church will also be available.

Following the service, we will gather together in the designated picnic area where we will have some reserved tables, enjoying some chit-chat, snacks and beverages as we fire up the barbecue and finish setting up. We’ll ring the bell signaling when lunch is ready!

WHAT’S ON THE MENU

We will be ready with beef hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill. Being mindful of some dietary restrictions, we will also offer salmon, turkey, and veggie burgers as an alternative. Condiments and drinks will be also be included.

BRING A DISH TO SHARE

There is a sign-up sheet in the narthex at the back of the sanctuary. Place a check in the box corresponding with a requested food options: coffee, doughnuts, snacks, appetizers, salads, side dishes, and desserts. It’s so much more interesting when we share!

FUN & GAMES

Enjoy worship, fellowship, good eats, fun and games or just take a breather and soak up the great outdoors. There’s something for everyone!
