Annual Christmas Boutique – Dec. 1st & 8th

It’s time again for the highly anticipated Annual Christmas Boutique – courtesy of the Crafts Group ministry that each year gathers together the creative efforts of so many for the benefit of St. Thomas.

Just in time, too, for the holidays…if you’re looking for a gift for somebody special, need some ideas for decorating or just plain have a sweet tooth – there will be much to delight!

Sunday, December 1st and 8th following 8:00 AM and 10:30 AM worship services.

Saint Thomas Episcopal Church in Cowans Hall, see Directions and Campus Map
231 Sunset Avenue, Sunnyvale CA 94086

Interested in ordering a Christmas wreath? Don’t miss out!

There will be a sign-up sheet available starting November 18th with the cost/details on the back table located in the Narthex (just inside the big red doors of the church).

Tickets will be on sale (cash or check made payable to St. Thomas) for the annual St. Nicholas Feast – $5.00 per adult and children under 8 years (free). Ask at the check-out table.

The evening will include a holiday feast highlighted by a visit from St. Nick & Santa Lucia with lively dinner theater for added entertainment. Bring an appetizer to share and look forward to an enjoyable with us…

As is customary each year, we accept a voluntary cash/check donation by any and all who would like to give in support of Santa Maria Urban Ministry (SMUM) to continue its efforts to feed families in Santa Clara County. Look for more details to follow regarding this upcoming event!

We are looking for donations of arts & crafts items, and homemade goodies to sell at the boutique in benefit of St. Thomas.

Over the years, we’ve had a wonderful collection of hand-crafted items created by parishioners and friends alike including wreathes and flowers, handmade crafts (e.g., bags, quilts, blankets,
ornaments and wall-hangings) and decorations, any holiday related items, handmade jewelry, cards, pottery, jams & jellies, seasonal breads and baked goods, toys, scarves, knit hats and other items, etc.

The Craft Group invites all of you to join the fun of the Christmas Boutique and share your talents (baking, handmade hobbies, etc.) Bring your creations, marked with prices, no later than November 24th. Bring edible creations on November 30th or December 1st by 8:00 am (or by December 8th at 8:00 am for the second Sunday).

Thank you in advance to all contributors for sharing the joy of the season 🙂

Back 2 Back: Rummage Sale (Sat. July 27) & Goodwill Drive (Sun. July 28)

This year we’re having back-to-back fundraising events on the weekend of July 27-28 in support of St. Thomas and we cordially invite you to join in! Combining the Rummage Sale and Goodwill Drive is a great fit for a wonderful cause!

Looking for Volunteers

We can always use helping hands in our FUN-draising efforts to sort, tag, organize, move or assist with whatever needs doing. Lunch will be provided on both days in gratitude for our collective efforts – can’t beat that! Please Contact Us if you would like to help.

The first of two events will be the third annual rummage sale held on Saturday, July 27, from 9 AM – 2 PM.

The previous two rummage sales have been overwhelming successes, and we hope to achieve the same results this year.

Donations for the Rummage Sale

We are accepting small items now for sale, such as clothes, books, dishes, small kitchen appliances, bed linens, and electronics. Let us know if you need help getting your items into church

Non-Acceptable Items

We cannot accept large appliances (e.g., washers and dryers), magazines, tires, flammable materials, or beds.

If you would like to donate furniture, please contact Kristen Kaliski (Ng) to discuss your item(s) – her contact details can be found in the church directory. If new to St. Thomas, contact the parish office at (408) 736-4155 or use the following link to send a message – Contact Us.

The second event will be the fourth annual Goodwill Drive that will take place on Sunday, July 28, 9 AM – 2 PM.

As in previous years, unsold items from the rummage sale will be donated to Goodwill.

We have fun and hope everyone else does too. So, let’s get busy – simplifying and decluttering our worlds while doing a world of good 🙂

Items to Donate

Goodwill loves to receive the following:
● clothes, shoes, and accessories
● small household items
● e – waste (old computers, printers, cables, etc. — they don ’ t have to work)
● electronics in working condition
● Books

Unacceptable Donations

There are items that we can donate and others that will not be accepted by the Goodwill. Please make a note of the items listed below and leave them at home.

Goodwill of Silicon Valley will not accept the following:
● furniture, mattresses, or exercise equipment
● large appliances, automobile parts, or weapons
● household trash, food, or carpeting
● construction debris, bricks, concrete, lumber, etc.
● hazardous household liquids or chemicals
● liquids of any kind (paints, insecticides, oils, flammables, alcohol, etc.)
● baby strollers, car seats, etc.
● pet – related items of any type
● items weighing more than 50 lbs (this includes TVs)

Keep in mind that what Goodwill will accept during a Goodwill drive differs from what Goodwill stores accept. For instance, Goodwill stores will not accept old – style cathode ray tube TVs, but such TVs are acceptable during the Goodwill drive if they weigh under 50 lbs (even if they don’t work).

Any Questions?

If you have any questions about what will be accepted, please check with Kristen Kaliski (Ng) via the Church Directory or if new to St. Thomas, contact the parish office at (408) 736-4155 or use the following link to send a message – Contact Us.

You may receive a tax receipt the day of the Goodwill Drive or may make arrangements with Kristen to receive one at another time.

Many Thanks to all who participate and give from your Fun(d)-Raising Team:
Caroline Harman, Fran Hostettler, Kristen Kaliski, Ann Kopischke, and Hugo Laguna- Lopez
