Sunday School – July 12th

SUMMER PROGRAM BEGINS

The Summer Program begins on July 12th with Sunday School Class in the Heart Classroom at 10:30 a.m.

Nursery Care is available for children ages 0 to age 4 in the Education Building.

READINGS – SEVENTH SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST

The readings for the Seventh Sunday After Pentecost: Psalm 24 or 85:8-13, the first reading is 2 Samuel 6:1-5, 12b-19 or Amos 7:7-15, the second reading is Ephesians 1:3-14 and the Gospel is Mark 6:14-29.

COMING SOON

Next week will be Family Eucharist and families will worship together in Church. Reminder: No Sunday School on July 19th – ALL will be gathering in the Sanctuary!

ACOLYTE TRAINING

During the summer, we will begin training new acolytes for service in the fall. If your child is eight (8) years old or will be by the end of the summer, he/she are eligible to serve as an Acolyte. Those who participate make a commitment to serve once a month at the altar.

VOLUNTEER TO TEACH

If you would like to teach a Summer Sunday, please contact Sue Beckham (see below). You are welcome to share your ideas.

Sunday School – June 21st

SUNDAY READINGS

The readings for the fourth Sunday after Pentecost are: The Psalm 9:9-20 or 133 or 107:1-3, 23-32, The First Reading is 1 Samuel 17:(1a, 4-11, 19-23) 32-49 or Samuel 17:57-18:5, 10-16 or Job 38:1-11, The Second reading is 2 Corinthians 6:1-13 and the Gospel of Mark 4:35-41.

LAST DAY OF SUNDAY SCHOOL

This Sunday, classes will be held in the Heart and Treasure classrooms in the Smith Educational Building. June 21st marks the last day of the School year with a short break before the Summer Program kicks-in.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE REMINDERS

Sunday June 28th and July 5th there will be NO SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES due to Independence Day Holiday.

Get ready for The Summer Program beginning the following Sunday, July 12th.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL STARTS MONDAY!

Don’t miss out! – Vacation Bible School begins this Monday, June 22nd through Friday, June 26th. We will meet in the Education Building at 9:30 and will end at Noon.

We will have stories, music, games, create themed snacks, science experiments, and arts and crafts. There’s still time if you haven’t registered yet! The cost for the week is $45.00.

SUNDAY SCHOOL TODAY

SUNDAY READINGS

The readings for the Seventh Sunday of Easter are Psalm 1, the first reading is Acts 1:15-17, 21-26, the second reading is 1 John 5: 9-13 and the Gospel is John 17:6-19.

JOYFUL NOISE CHILDREN’S CHOIR

Joyful Noise music rehearsal will be held from 10:00 to 10:30 AM in the Treasure classroom. All Children are welcome to participate! Those interested, please report to the Treasure Classroom promptly at 10:00 AM before the regular Sunday School session. The Nursery Care will be available.

SPECIAL THANKS

Thank you to all of the families who participated last Sunday in the Holy Communion Sunday. Our children participated in the service in many ways. They Served as Readers, Carried the “Prayers of the People”, Acolytes, Singers, Oblations Bearers, and as Greeters. Their art works, hand crafted chalices, were displayed in the Narthex and Doves on the Church windows. They all did a terrific job and followed all directions given to them.
