Sunday School – August 16

SUMMER PROGRAM CONTINUES

The Summer Program continues on August 16th with Sunday School Class in the Heart Classroom at 10:30 a.m.

We are beginning a study about “Bishops” – who are they, what are they, what do they do within the church.

Nursery Care is available for children ages 0 to age 4 in the Education Building.

For Education Building location, see Directions and Campus Map.

READINGS – TWELFTH SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST

The readings for the Twelfth Sunday after Pentecost are: Psalm 34:9-14, The First Reading is Proverbs 9:1-6, The Second Reading is Ephesians 5:15-20 and the Gospel is John 6:51-58.

COMING SOON

Next Sunday on August 23rd, Family Eucharist will be celebrated. There will be a “Back to School” Blessing for all of the children on this day – so come one, come all!

Registration for the 2015-2016 Sunday School year will be held on September 13th with classes beginning the following Sunday, September 20th.

Remember to check the website calendar for upcoming events and class information. Don’t forget to check the weekly slider update the day before!

ACOLYTE TRAINING

During the summer, we train new acolytes for service in the fall. If your child is eight (8) years old or will be by the end of the summer, he/she are eligible to serve as an Acolyte. Those who participate make a commitment to serve once a month at the altar.

VOLUNTEER TO TEACH

If you would like to teach during the regular school year or help out in the classrooms, please contact Sue Beckham (see below). You are welcome to share your ideas.
