The Great Chocolate Challenge
The theme of this year’s Summer Reading Program is “The Great Chocolate Challenge” in honor of the 50th anniversary of Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Our summer reading program will feature books about chocolate delicacies and everyone is invited to participate!
To Participate
All you have to do is read any book you want: from the St. Thomas Library, from a public library, borrowed from a friend or one that you have been waiting all year to read from your bookshelf; e-books, audiobooks, and Kindles also count. Too young to read? Just have someone read a book to you!
Let Us Know What You Are Reading
Write your name and title of the book on the special candy wrapper – one per book please. These will be available at the bulletin board in Cowans Hall each Sunday after services. Let’s count how many candy wrappers will be placed on the bulletin board by the end of the summer.
Drawing for a Gift Certificate
On August 10 there will be a drawing for a gift certificate. Your name will be entered for each book you read. The more you read, the better your chances. We will have activities throughout the summer for your enjoyment. Stay tuned and see how much you know about the history of chocolate.
