Join us in celebrating the Sunday of the Passion: Palm Sunday, the opening celebration of Holy Week.
The day will begin with a procession prior to both the 8:00 and 10:30 AM services. Please arrive a few minutes early to pick up a palm branch. We will congregate in the labyrinth courtyard and sing as we process with palms around the church before entering the sanctuary for the Palm Sunday Holy Eucharist.
PALM SUNDAY SERVICES
The 8:00 am service will follow the more traditional Rite I liturgy with language that recalls its Anglican heritage and more contemplative expression sans music.
The 10:30 am Rite II service combines various creative elements including a reading of the Palm Gospel and a musical remembrance of the Passion Gospel.
WHISPERS OF THE PASSION
The choir will present Whispers of the Passion, a poignantly beautiful cantata composed by Joseph Martin. In this imaginative work, five inanimate objects present during Christ’s Passion week are presented as the “silent witnesses” to the message of grace.
Through dramatic monologues that introduce musical anthems of thoughtful beauty, we hear words from the Palms, Chalice, Robe, Crown of Thorns, and Cross.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS TO FAMILIES
There will be No Sunday School classes on April 14th, as it’s a time we gather together as a faith community.
Child Care will be available during the 10:30 am service in the narthex or outer gallery located in back of the church immediately to the left just inside the big red doors.
