Please mark your calendars and join us in welcoming Bishop Mary during her last scheduled visit with St. Thomas on Sunday, May 5th. She will be presiding over both 8:00 and 10:30 am worship services.
Fiesta to Follow
Following the mid-morning service, we will gather in Cowans Hall as a full faith community to host a Cinco de Mayo Celebration in recognition of the rich cultural heritage of our Latin neighbors and to honor Bishop Mary’s last visit with us.
What’s on the Menu?
For lunch, PEP a.k.a. Parish Event Planners will host a Taco Bar with some basic fixings (i.e. corn and flour tortillas, black beans, refried beans, rice, Mexican cheeses, shredded lettuce, tomatoes, chips and fresh salsas).
Bring Something Good to Share
We invite you to contribute to the festivities by bringing something tasty to share…here are some ideas:
[su_list]
- Additional Condiments for the Taco Bar (guacamole, pico de gallo) or fillings (chicken, beef, fish, grilled veggies, etc.)
- A Favorite Mexican Dish (chicken molé, arroz con polo, carne asada, fiesta casseroles, etc.)
- Desserts (flan, sopapillas, tres leches cake, churros, etc.)

Bebidos or Drinks
There will also be an “Agua Fresca” bar where you can enjoy sampling a variety of Mexican non-alcoholic beverages.
Special Note: No worries if you are unable to bring something, come for lunch anyway. There’s always plenty to share!
