Christmas Jazz will feature the song stylings of Krassen Karagiozov and Isaiah Musik-Ayala, a pair of world-class opera singers with a passion for Jazz. Karagiozov is a pianist and baritone from Bulgaria who has appeared in numerous opera productions all over the Bay area and around the world. Karagiozov and Ayala will perform a variety of Jazz Standards in both Italian and English as well as sacred and secular Christmas music.
ABOUT THE PERFORMERS
Isaiah Musik-Ayala
Musik-Ayala is an American bass-baritone currently based in New York City. He has made a name for himself singing in repertoire ranging from Handel to 21st Century opera. A graduate of Oberlin Conservatory, he recently finished three seasons as a Principal Artist in Residence with Opera San Jose, where he sang leading roles in La Boheme, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Manon, La Cenerentola, Die Fledermaus, the West Coast premiere of Anna Karenina, and the title role in Le Nozze di Figaro, among others.
Krassen Karagiozov
Baritone Krassen Karagiozov was born in Starza Zagora, Bulgaria, where he began his musical studies as a pianist. He has participated in and won international competitions in both piano and voice, including the “Tz. Diakovich” in Sofia, the Charlotte Opera Guild, the Metropolitan Opera Council, and the Irene Dalis vocal competition. He has appeared with opera companies such as New York City Opera, Opera Carolina, Opera San José, Lake George Opera Festival, Spoleto Opera Festival, Aspen Opera Theater, The Opera Company of North Carolina, Opera Roanoke, Piedmont Opera Theater, West Bay Opera and Capital Opera Raleigh. He has also appeared as a soloist for the Symphony Silicon Valley, the Bulgarian Radio-Symphony Orchestra, the North Carolina Symphony Orchestra, Carolina Chamber Symphony, Winston-Salem Symphony Orchestra, and Enid Symphony Orchestra in a concert featuring the world-renowned soprano Leona Mitchell. Karagiozov is the current organist at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Sunnyvale. He has worked as a teacher, accompanist, and singer for 35 years.

The cost of admission is $25, which includes entertainment, appetizers, and a beverage. The evening will consist of two 45-minute sets, comedy and music.
