After her third miscarriage and the unraveling of her marriage, Jaya, a New York journalist, travels to India to discover her family’s past. Intoxicated by her experience she becomes an eager student of the culture, learning the story of her pioneering grandmother during the British occupation and discovering a legacy bequeathed to her and a strength that, until now, she never knew was possible.
