This year we’re having back-to-back fundraising events on the weekend of July 27-28 in support of St. Thomas and we cordially invite you to join in! Combining the Rummage Sale and Goodwill Drive is a great fit for a wonderful cause!
Looking for Volunteers
We can always use helping hands in our FUN-draising efforts to sort, tag, organize, move or assist with whatever needs doing. Lunch will be provided on both days in gratitude for our collective efforts – can’t beat that! Please Contact Us if you would like to help.
3RD ANNUAL RUMMAGE SALE
The first of two events will be the third annual rummage sale held on Saturday, July 27, from 9 AM β 2 PM.
The previous two rummage sales have been overwhelming successes, and we hope to achieve the same results this year.
Donations for the Rummage Sale
We are accepting small items now for sale, such as clothes, books, dishes, small kitchen appliances, bed linens, and electronics. Let us know if you need help getting your items into church
storage.
Non-Acceptable Items
We cannot accept large appliances (e.g., washers and dryers), magazines, tires, flammable materials, or beds.
If you would like to donate furniture, please contact Kristen Kaliski (Ng) to discuss your item(s) – her contact details can be found in the church directory. If new to St. Thomas, contact the parish office at (408) 736-4155 or use the following link to send a message – Contact Us.
4TH ANNUAL GOODWILL DRIVE
The second event will be the fourth annual Goodwill Drive that will take place on Sunday, July 28, 9 AM – 2 PM.
As in previous years, unsold items from the rummage sale will be donated to Goodwill.
We have fun and hope everyone else does too. So, let’s get busy – simplifying and decluttering our worlds while doing a world of good π
Items to Donate
Goodwill loves to receive the following:
β clothes, shoes, and accessories
β small household items
β e – waste (old computers, printers, cables, etc. β they don β t have to work)
β electronics in working condition
β Books
Unacceptable Donations
There are items that we can donate and others that will not be accepted by the Goodwill. Please make a note of the items listed below and leave them at home.
Goodwill of Silicon Valley will not accept the following:
β furniture, mattresses, or exercise equipment
β large appliances, automobile parts, or weapons
β household trash, food, or carpeting
β construction debris, bricks, concrete, lumber, etc.
β hazardous household liquids or chemicals
β liquids of any kind (paints, insecticides, oils, flammables, alcohol, etc.)
β baby strollers, car seats, etc.
β pet – related items of any type
β items weighing more than 50 lbs (this includes TVs)
Keep in mind that what Goodwill will accept during a Goodwill drive differs from what Goodwill stores accept. For instance, Goodwill stores will not accept old – style cathode ray tube TVs, but such TVs are acceptable during the Goodwill drive if they weigh under 50 lbs (even if they donβt work).
Any Questions?
If you have any questions about what will be accepted, please check with Kristen Kaliski (Ng) via the Church Directory or if new to St. Thomas, contact the parish office at (408) 736-4155 or use the following link to send a message – Contact Us.
You may receive a tax receipt the day of the Goodwill Drive or may make arrangements with Kristen to receive one at another time.
Many Thanks to all who participate and give from your Fun(d)-Raising Team:
